As winter gracefully fades away and spring tiptoes in eagerly, I’m looking for little ways to add a bit of new season anticipation to my wardrobe. While floral prints and pastel shades continue to dominate this season, I think there’s a shiny contender for the spotlight: the silver skirt.(Photo: courtesy of Carolina Herrera)
This captivating model is a hit on the catwalks and delights both celebrities and fashion experts, cementing its status as a popular model for the coming months. Skirts are fashionable this season – catwalk analysts at Tagwalk confirm that there were 18% more skirts in the S/S 24 collections than in the S/S 23 collection. However, of all the skirt trends we observed, the silver skirt is the result in my opinion the most exciting.(Photo: Courtesy of Carven)
On the spring/summer 2024 catwalks, the dominance of the silver skirt was clear as designers seamlessly incorporated this metallic wonder into their collections. The silver skirt, seen at Carolina Herrera, Carven and Coperni, proved to be a real standout, styled in a variety of ways.(Photo: courtesy of Coperni)
Carolina Herrera’s interpretation exudes sophistication, pairing a sequined midi dress with what many of us would consider a wardrobe staple – a relaxed-fit cotton shirt in a contrasting black shade. At Carven, the brand paired its brown and silver skirt with a matching shirt to create a put-together option that’s perfect for any evening occasion. Meanwhile, Coperni took a more whimsical approach, combining a sequined herringbone midi with a mohair-textured knit, creating an interesting clash of textures and presenting us with a more restrained styling option with a silver skirt.(Photo: Getty Images)
As if I needed any further persuasion, some of my favorite fashion icons sealed the deal. From Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who recently hit the streets of Paris in an elegant tulle skirt with silver embellishments, to street style star Nathalie Fanj, who effortlessly rocked the trend in a white shirt and Mary Janes. And let’s not forget Fer Millan Delaroiere’s stunning sequined maxi alternative, which took my breath away.(Photo: Getty Images)
They may be fashionable, but I believe that the silver skirt trend has a power that will last beyond spring. Not only will it come in handy during wedding season, but before you know it, it’ll be time to rethink those all-important party outfits. With so much style inspiration, adding this trendy skirt to my wardrobe proves to be a tempting prospect.(Photo: Getty Images)
I spent most of the afternoon incorporating silver skirts into my spring mood boards and have just now resurfaced – the market is full of them too. Keep scrolling to see all the items currently in my virtual carts until I decide what I’m committing to.
